Self-Publishers of Chicago released the Fire Dogs compilation zine, its first publication, in July 2012. Fire Dogs was inspired by a book discovered on the shelves of Read/Write Library about, you guessed it, fire house canines. The book contained all sorts of anecdotal and biographical information about Chicago firehouse dogs of yore. We used the original source material to create new stories, poetry, artwork, and more.
